DENVER, Colo., September 14, 2009 Green Convene Strategies, a leading green meeting planning and event management firm based in Denver, Colorado, and CORE* today announced results of the green event and waste diversion program at the 2009 Sustainable Opportunities Summit held at the Colorado Convention Center. More than 66 percent of food scraps and waste generated at this year’s event was diverted from landfills, for recycling or composting.

 

Denver-based nonprofit *CORE (Connected Organizations for Responsible Economy) is the Rocky Mountain region’s oldest and largest business association dedicated to the promotion of environmentally and socially responsible business practices across the global economy. CORE co-hosts the annual Sustainable Opportunities Summit with the City of Denver and the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado. CORE To Initiate Statewide CleanTech Industry Study

 

  

DENVER, Colo., March 10, 2009 CORE, the region’s largest business association dedicated to the promotion of more environmentally and socially responsible business practices, has retained Evenson & Associates to conduct a comprehensive study of the CleanTech industry in Colorado. Evenson uses analysis techniques developed by Harvard professor Michael Porter that help identify industry cluster markers that contribute to the emergence of new industry potential.  The study’s mission will be discussed next week during CORE’s Fourth Annual Sustainable Opportunities Summit to be held March 17-19, 2009 at the Colorado Convention Center.  CORE is co-hosting the Summit with The City of Denver and the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado. Sustainable Opportunities Summit To Honor 2009 Sustainable Business Medal of Honor Award Winners; Also Announces Career Fair

CORE also announced that the Summit will host a Sustainability Career Fair for job seekers looking to move into the sustainability sector.
