    Strategies for a Sustainable Summit:

    Changing Concept Into Reality

Empowering our community with sustainable business practices isn't just about saving the planet. It's about taking responsibility in your immediate environment, demonstrating leadership, and bolstering local economic vitality. Sustainable business as a strategy brings about big rewards for company owners, employees, communities, business partners and shareholders. The Summit Independent Business Alliance, a nonprofit committed to boosting the economic vitality of Summit County, and Our Future Summit, a grassroots organization dedicated to making Summit County a better place to work and live, have teamed up to design and offer this opportunity to our community.

Topics will focus on using less and better to give forward to future generations, respecting ourselves and our environment, living well by living small, and exploring why sustainability is a moral imperative that's locally driven with local benefits. Flexible democratic, there are many types of sustainability - financial and economic, energy conservation, planning, design and construction, transportation, natural resources, social, physical and spiritual. Sustainabiz 2010 explores these various categories of learning, and provides suggestions and solutions devoted to how we can all do better.
